The Sign Master

Being over at Plot No. 1703 in Gurmil Park, right off Tibba Road, means there is always a lot of noise from the traffic. At The Sign Master, we are usually busy with the smell of glue and the sound of cutting tools going through plastic or metal. The shop is a bit of a mess if I am being honest, with offcuts and old samples lying around the corners. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t even notice the dust anymore. Most of our day is spent measuring things out and making sure the colors look okay under the shop lights. Tibba Road is a busy stretch, so we see a lot of people passing by, though most people only stop when they have a specific job in mind. We have a few old machines that have been with us since the start, and they make a bit of a racket, but they still work fine. The walls are covered in some old posters and a calendar that hasn't been flipped in two months. We don't really have a sales team or anyone like that. It’s just us doing the actual work with our hands. Sometimes a customer comes in with a rough drawing on a napkin, and we have to figure out how to make it real. It is hard work and usually leaves our hands pretty dirty by the end of the shift, but we keep at it anyway.
