T. K. Steel Rolling Milling Ltd.

T. K. Steel Rolling Milling Ltd. is situated at D-11, Phase V, Focal Point. Being in Phase V means we are surrounded by other shops and factories, so the sound of industry is just part of the background here. Our building is a big steel structure that gets pretty hot in the afternoons. We have some large fans, but they mostly just move the warm air around. It’s a tough environment, but it’s what we know. The floors are concrete and have a lot of character from years of heavy loads being moved across them. We don't have a lobby or a receptionist. If you need someone, you just walk toward the noise and look for a person who isn't currently busy. There is a small desk near the entrance where we keep the delivery logs, but half the time the pen is missing. We’re more focused on the rolling and the milling than on keeping the office tidy. Most of the staff have been together for a long time, so we don't need many rules. We just know how the day is supposed to go. Sometimes the delivery trucks get backed up in the narrow lane outside, and we have to go out and help direct traffic. It’s just part of the daily routine at Focal Point. We keep things simple and keep the machines running as much as we can. It's dusty work but we stay steady.
