Sweety Confectionery

We started the confectionery shop a while back here in Janta Nagar. Prathna Industrial Estate is where we spend most our daylight hours. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially near the back where we keep the bulk stock. We see a lot of workers from the nearby units coming in during their breaks. Mostly just everyday folks looking for something small to eat or take home. The shelves usually need dusting every single morning because of the industrial dust that floats around C.t.m 2. It is just a part of the daily routine now. Open the heavy shutters, check the jars, see what needs filling up from the store room. Some days are much busier than others, depends on the month or if there's a festival coming up. We keep things simple here. Nothing fancy or expensive about the place. Just a regular spot for sweets and little bits. Most people in the area know exactly where we are located. Sometimes the big delivery trucks block the narrow lane, which is a bit of a headache for everyone but we manage to get by. My nephew helps out on the weekends when it gets a bit crowded with families. We’ve seen this whole area change a lot over the years. There are way more buildings now. It used to be much quieter ten years ago. Now there’s always noise from the street. We just keep our heads down and do our work. That's about it.
