Standard Fastners

Over at 195, Street 2 in Kailash Nagar, Sherpur, things are always moving fast. Standard Fastners is right in the middle of a very busy industrial patch. Our street is narrow, and you have to be careful not to get in the way of the rickshaws and small tempos carrying goods. Inside our unit, you’ll see rows and rows of bins filled with all sorts of fasteners—bolts, nuts, screws, and all that small hardware. It’s a bit dusty, and the floor is concrete and showing some cracks from years of heavy bins being dragged across it. We spend most of our hours counting out pieces for orders and packing them into bags. The sound of metal clicking together is the background music of our day. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the ledger and the phone. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s our place. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, so we just open the big front door wider to let the sunlight in. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the flashiest; we just make sure we have the stock people need when they come knocking. The staff is just a few of us who know where every single item is kept, even if the shelves look a bit messy to an outsider. It’s just simple, hard work.
