S.M. International

We are based over at E-91 in the Focal Point Extension area. It’s one of those spots that’s always active with trucks and laborers. Being an international business like S.M. International sounds like it might be glamorous, but mostly it’s just a lot of boxes and looking at shipping schedules. We spend a good chunk of our time on the phone or checking emails to see where a container is. The office isn't anything special, just some desks and a lot of filing cabinets. We’ve got stacks of paper everywhere because there is so much to keep track of. Sometimes the internet is slow, and we all get a bit frustrated, but we manage to get the work finished eventually. It’s a lot of coordination between us and the people at the docks. We like the location because it’s easy for the big lorries to get in and out without getting stuck in city traffic. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know how things work. There’s no big hierarchy here; we all just pitch in when a big order needs to go out. It gets hot in the summer, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving. We just keep our heads down and focus on the tasks at hand. It’s a solid way to spend the day and we feel good about it.
