Shyam Enterprises

Being right near Jagraon Bridge means it is always noisy at Shyam Enterprises. You can hear the motorcycles and trucks passing by all day long. We deal with various items here, mostly whatever the local businesses need to keep going. The office is a bit cramped because we have so many files and samples sitting around on the floor. It’s just how it is when you’ve been in one place for years. I usually get in early to beat the traffic, but even then, the bridge area is already moving. We don’t really do much advertising or anything because people just see us when they are stuck in traffic or walking over to the other side. My brother helps out with the accounts, and we have one guy who handles the heavy lifting. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We sit on plastic chairs and drink tea from the stall next door while we talk to people who come in. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit near the door for some air. It gets hot in the summer, but the breeze from the open front helps a little. We don’t have a website or a mission statement, we just sell what we have and try to get home before the evening rush gets too bad. It’s a simple way to spend the day at Jagraon Bridge, dealing with the noise and the people passing through.
