H.P.Traders

Living in Ludhiana my whole life made setting up H.P.Traders feel like the natural thing to do. Showrooms aren't really what we do here; it is just a workspace where we handle our trading business. Some days I’m just staring at the phone waiting for a call about a shipment, and other days it’s so busy I don’t even have time to eat my lunch until the evening. The weather in Ludhiana can be tough, either very hot or quite cold, and that usually dictates how much work we get done in the warehouse area. I have one guy who helps me with the lifting and the heavy stuff. We’ve been in this same spot for a few years now. The neighbors are mostly other small business owners, so we all know each other and sometimes share a pot of tea in the afternoons. I try to keep the books organized, but sometimes the paperwork piles up on the old wooden desk. It’s not a fancy operation, just a way to make a living and provide for the family. People find us through word of mouth mostly. We don’t do any advertising. If someone needs something traded or moved, they just find out where we are located in the city and come talk to us directly. It’s a simple way of doing things and it works for us. I hope to keep it going as long as I am able to work.
