Shubham Sweets Shop

You can find Shubham Sweets Shop right where Mall road meets the Old Kasai Road. It’s a bit of a junction, so there is always something going on outside our door. We’ve been operating from this spot for quite some time now. The shop is a mix of old and new; we’ve tried to fix things up over the years, but it still has that lived-in feel. We spend most of our time in the kitchen area, which is separated from the front by a simple door. It’s where all the boiling and frying happens. We don't have a huge selection, just the items we know we can make well. Sometimes the traffic on Mall road makes it hard for people to park, but our regulars always find a way. We don’t have a corporate office or a PR person. It’s just us, the family, and a couple of guys who help with the heavy lifting. The display cases are simple wood and glass, and we try to keep them clean, though it’s a constant battle with the dust from the road. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, with new shops coming and going, but we’re still here doing the same thing every day. It’s hard work, and the hours are long, but we’re used to it by now. If you’re passing by the Old Kasai Road, stop in for a minute. We’ll be here behind the counter, probably packing up a fresh batch.
