Committee Bazar in Raikot is always crowded with shoppers and people going about their business. That is where Shivam Beauty Parlour & Training Institute is. It is right in the heart of the action in Ludhiana district. We do two things here, the usual parlour work and then the teaching part. We have students who want to learn how to do hair and makeup properly. It can get pretty loud and hectic with the girls learning and the regular customers coming in at the same time. The space is filled with chairs and mirrors and practice kits. Raikot is a smaller place compared to the main Ludhiana city, so everyone in Committee Bazar knows everyone else. We see the same vendors outside every day. The training side of things takes up a lot of our energy. We show them how to hold the thread or use the machines. It is hands-on work. Sometimes the shop feels too small when there is a big class, but we make it work. The floors are rarely clean for long with all the activity. We don’t have a fancy website or a lot of glossy pictures. It is just a working shop and school where people come to get a service or learn a trade. It is a busy life in the bazar, and we are right in the middle of it all day.
