Sharma Sewing Machines

We are located in Basti Jodhewal, just outside Street-7. If you know the Balmik Mandir, we are very close to that spot. It’s a small shop where we deal with all kinds of sewing machines. Most days I am here from morning until the sun goes down. People bring in their old machines that haven't worked in years, and I try to get them running again. It’s a lot of oil and small parts all over the table. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just a place for work. My family has been doing this for a long time. Street-7 can get pretty crowded with bikes and people walking to the temple, so it’s always lively outside. We keep some new machines for sale, but mostly it is repairs. Sometimes parts are hard to find for the really old ones, but we usually manage. I don’t use any fancy computers here. I just have my tools and a ledger where I write down what needs doing. It gets hot in the summer, but we have a small fan that keeps the air moving. If you need to find us, just ask anyone near the Mandir for Sharma’s place. We have been in this same spot for years now. It’s a simple life, fixing things so people can make their clothes or finish their work. The floor is usually covered in little metal scraps. That is just how it is.
