SATLUJ MACHINE TOOLS & FOUNDRY WORKS

Our shop has been on Gill Road for a while now, right opposite the I.T.I. College. Most people around here know Guru Nanak Street, and we are at number 4201. It is a busy place, with plenty of noise from the machines and the foundry going all day long. We spend most of our time just managing the day-to-day work on the floor. It is dusty and loud, but that is how a foundry is. My father started things here or maybe it was just always around, I do not really remember a time we were not casting something. We do not have a fancy office with air conditioning or anything like that. There is just a desk and a few chairs where we sit with people to talk about what they need. Sometimes the power goes out, which is just how things are in Ludhiana. We just wait it out or use the generator to keep moving. People come in looking for specific machine parts or custom casting work. We just do what we can with the equipment we have. It is a lot of manual labor and heavy lifting, making sure the molds are right. You can find us easily because of the college across the street. We are usually there early in the morning until late evening. It is not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy. We know the neighbors and the other shops on the street. It is just a regular place trying to get the orders out.
