Sarbjit Tapa Maker

If you go to the back side of the bus stand, near Tubewell Number 2, you will find Sarbjit Tapa Maker at 92 Gill. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’re new to the area, but the locals know where we are. We have been making tapas here for a long time. It’s a small shop and it gets hot in the summer, but we are used to it. There’s always noise from the bus stand nearby, but it becomes background noise after a while. We aren’t a big factory. It is just us working with our hands. Sarbjit Tapa Maker is a simple name for a simple job. We don’t have a fancy office or a receptionist. If the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make what people need and we try to do it well. Some days the pile of materials is higher than others. We just work through it. Being near the tubewell is handy, and we’ve been at 92 Gill long enough that the place feels like home. We don’t do much advertising. People usually just hear about us from someone else. It is just a small, local workshop doing its thing every day. We just keep working away at the bench.
