Our shop, Sant Arts, is tucked away in Civil Lines on Kailash Cinema Road. If you are coming from the main part of town, we are right across from the Domoria Pull. It’s an interesting spot because you get all sorts of people passing by. The building is B-1/356, and it’s been here for as long as I can remember. It is not the most modern place you will ever see, and the walls have a few cracks here and there, but it is our workspace and we like it that way. We spend most of our hours surrounded by frames, boards, and bits of art supplies scattered everywhere. It can get a bit messy, especially when we have several things going on at once. There is no real system to the clutter, but we usually know where everything is. The noise from the road and the nearby cinema area is always there in the background. We don’t have a fancy reception area or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. It’s usually just one of us wiping our hands on a rag and coming to the front when the door opens. We just take things one day at a time and try to finish what we started. It’s a simple life, really, just making things with our hands and keeping the shop running in this corner of Civil Lines.
