S. V. Metal Works

If you’re looking for S. V. Metal Works, we’re right near Barkat D. Kanta. It’s out on Sua Road, close to Eastman Chowk. It’s a loud area with all the trucks and the weight bridge nearby, but we’re used to it by now. The air always smells a bit like iron and dust around here. We spend our days cutting, bending, and joining pieces of metal. It’s heavy work and it makes your back ache by the end of the week. Our workshop is just a practical space. We’ve got the welding gear in one corner and the raw materials stacked up against the wall. It’s not a place for sitting down much. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit on the stoop and wait for it to come back on, watching the traffic go by on Sua Road. We’ve known the guys at the other shops around Eastman Chowk for years. It’s a community of people who work with their hands. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the sign out front and the work we do every day. People come to us because they know we’re here and we know what we’re doing with a torch and a hammer. It’s nothing fancy, just honest labor in a dusty shed. We try to get things out the door on time, though the machines sometimes have their own ideas.
