Romex Steel Industries

Romex Steel Industries is tucked away at 702, Industrial Area-B. It is a busy part of town and we have been here for more years than I can count on my fingers. The shop floor is always noisy with the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of grease is just part of the furniture now. We mostly deal with steel stuff, getting orders in and pushing them out the door as fast as the machines allow. It’s hot in the summer, especially when the furnaces are running full tilt, but that is just how it goes in this line of work. Most of the guys here live nearby and we have all seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the decades. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time backing into the loading bay because the road is narrow, but we manage somehow. We don't have a fancy office or a receptionist in a suit. If you come by, you'll probably find us covered in dust or checking on a shipment. The equipment is old but it works well enough if you know how to treat it. Every morning starts with tea and a look at the schedule. We don't do anything flashy, just the work that needs doing. It’s a simple life here at Industrial Area-B. Sometimes I think about painting the sign out front, but then we get another big order and it just doesn't seem like a priority anymore.
