Raju Farms

Raju Farms is located out in Village Pawa, right along the G.T. Road. It’s easy to find us if you’re driving that way because of the big fields and the activity near the gate. We spend most of our time outside, honestly. Working on a farm means you’re at the mercy of the weather, so some weeks we are working from sunrise to sunset, and other times, when it’s raining hard, we’re just sitting in the shed drinking chai and waiting for it to clear up. The G.T. Road is always loud with trucks passing by, but once you get a little bit further into the fields, it gets much quieter. We grow a variety of stuff depending on the season. It’s hard work, and our hands are usually dirty, but it’s a good life. We have a couple of tractors that we’re always fixing because they’re getting old. The village is a tight-knit place, so everyone knows who we are. If someone needs something, they just walk up to the gate and shout. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning; our office is a small room with a desk and a lot of ledgers. It gets the job done. We just care about the crops and making sure the land is taken care of. It’s not a complicated business, just a lot of physical labor and hoping for good rain.
