Gour Santra

If you head down G.T Road and take the 6th Main, then the 9th Cross, you’ll find us near the Swimming Pool Road. Gour Santra is just the name on the door. It’s a corner we’ve occupied for some time. The area is usually full of kids going to the pool in the afternoons. I spend most of my time checking the inventory and talking to whoever walks in. It’s a mix of things we do here, nothing too complicated. The building is old and the paint is peeling a bit in the corners, but it serves its purpose. I usually start my day by sweeping the front step. The traffic on G.T Road can be a nightmare during rush hour, so I’m glad we are tucked a little further back near the cross roads. It’s quieter here. My neighbor runs a tea stall and we share some snacks most days. We don’t have any big corporate goals or anything. We just want to stay open and keep things ticking over. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit in the dark for a bit until it comes back. It’s just part of living in this part of town. We keep the books in a drawer and hope the rain doesn't leak through the roof again this year. Just a regular business for regular folks. Nothing more, nothing less than that. We just do our bit every day.
