Rajeev Karyana Stores

We are located on Abdullapur Basti Link Road, right over by Oshiwara 2405. Rajeev Karyana Stores is a typical neighborhood shop where we sell things like pulses, rice, flour, and all the small household bits you run out of. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling, so we often have to use a wooden stool to reach the top items. It is a bit cramped inside, especially when we get a fresh delivery of sacks that need to be weighed out. We spend a lot of our time chatting with the regulars who live in the basti. You get to know what everyone likes, who wants their tea leaves in a specific brand, and who is looking for a deal on cooking oil. The Link Road stays busy with bikes and pedestrians all day. Sometimes it feels like we never stop moving, just scooping out sugar or bagging up lentils. We do not have any fancy computers for the billing; we still mostly use a notebook and a pen to keep track of things. It works for us. My brother and I take turns behind the counter while the other one goes to fetch more stock from the main market. It is just a simple grocery store trying to keep the kitchen cupboards in the neighborhood full. We have been here long enough that the local kids who used to buy sweets now come in to buy supplies for their own homes. We just keep it simple.
