We are located deep in Lane 14 of Durga Nagar. It’s in the New Janta Nagar area, right behind the ATI. If you’re looking for us, just find Magghar Di Chakki; we are right opposite that. You can usually smell the flour from the mill when the wind blows the right way. The workshop is a busy place. We’ve got machines running and the sound of metal hitting metal most of the day. It’s a family thing, so there’s always a few of us brothers around arguing about one thing or another. The floor is always a bit greasy, no matter how much we sweep. We don’t have a fancy office for meetings. If someone comes to see us, we just pull up a plastic stool in the middle of the shop. It’s loud and it’s dusty, but it’s where the work happens. We’ve been in this lane for years and know everyone around. The power cuts can be a pain, but we have a generator that makes a lot of noise. We don't spend money on advertising or shiny signs. People find us because they know where we are and what we do. It’s a tough environment, especially in the winter, but we’re used to it. We just keep the machines moving and the orders going out. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when it gets too hot inside. It’s a basic life but we enjoy being our own bosses in this little corner of the city.
