Parkash Sweets

Our shop Parkash Sweets is located right in shimlapuri over in Kartik Nagar. It is part of the L R D Layout near the Outer Ring Road, so there is always a lot of movement around here. The shop stays quite busy especially during the festival months when everyone wants something sweet for their families. We spend most of our mornings in the back kitchen where it gets really hot from the big stoves. There is always the smell of ghee and sugar in the air which I guess we have just gotten used to over the years. We make all the usual stuff like laddoos and barfi and people seem to like coming here because they know what to expect. It is not some big corporate chain, just a local place where we try to get things done right. Sometimes the Outer Ring Road traffic makes it hard for people to park their scooters, but they still manage to find a way to pop in for a minute. The floor is usually a bit sticky by the end of the day and we are often tired, but that is just how it goes in a sweets shop. We have been in this part of Shimlapuri for a while now and have seen the buildings grow up around us. It is a nice enough spot even with all the noise from the traffic. We just keep the trays full and wait for the next person to walk through the door and ask for something.
