You can find Paramjit Singh Machinery at Janta Nagar Jaimal Road 68. It is a street filled with small workshops and people carrying heavy parts back and forth. Our shop is mostly filled with different types of machines and spare parts piled up in the corners. There is always a smell of machine oil in the air which stays on your clothes long after you go home. We spend our days working on repairs or putting together different mechanical pieces for our clients. The floor is usually stained with oil and there are metal shavings everywhere, so you have to be careful where you walk. We have an old wooden table where we keep our lunch boxes and a small radio that plays local stations in the background. It isn’t the cleanest place in the world, but it is where we do our best work. People come to us from all over the area when their equipment breaks down because they know we have been on Jaimal Road for years. We don't have a fancy website or a big office, just our tools and our hands. Sometimes a job takes much longer than we thought and we stay late with the shutters half-closed, working under a single bright bulb. It’s just the way it goes when you’re dealing with old machinery that has its own personality.
