P S Die Maker

We've been at 1830 Janta Nagar for quite some time now, right on Dominic Lane. It’s a busy spot, and if you walk down this way, you’ll hear the machines hum long before you see the door. Being a die maker isn't the cleanest job in the world, and my hands are usually covered in oil or metal dust by midday. We just get on with the work. The shop isn't anything fancy, just a solid space where we handle the steel and get the shapes right. Sometimes the electricity acts up in this part of town, which can be a real headache when we have a lot to get through, but we manage. People around Janta Nagar know where to find us. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing paperwork if we can help it; we’d rather be at the bench. Most days, it’s just the sound of the tools and the radio playing softly in the corner. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer, but that’s just how it is here. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, with more buildings going up and more traffic on the lane, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, making sure the blocks are cut right and the edges are clean before they leave the shop. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
