P C Jain & Sons

Our family has been running P C Jain & Sons out of this building at 393 Nanak Puri in Miller Ganj for a couple of generations now. It is a very industrial part of town, so there is always a lot of movement and noise on the street. Our shop is quite packed with inventory, and we use every inch of the shelves to keep our stock organized. It might look a bit messy to a stranger, but we know where everything is located, even the small parts that haven't been touched in months. We don’t have a big sign or any bright lights to attract attention. Most of our customers are people who have been coming to see us for twenty years, or their kids who are now running their own shops. It’s a simple way of doing things. We open up early, sweep the front step, and wait for the first person to walk in. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still written down in our big books. The Miller Ganj area can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it, but we like the energy of the market. We just focus on our daily work and make sure everyone gets what they came for. It’s an honest living, and we are happy to stay right here where we started. The walls are a bit dusty and the floor is worn down, but it feels right.
