Om Bikaner Mishthan Bhandar

If you walk down Ferozpur Road near the Raghunath Market, you will find us right there by the Kohinoor Society in Aggar Nagar. We’ve been operating this mishthan bhandar for a good while now. The location is busy, so there is constant noise from the traffic, but inside we are focused on the sweets. We handle everything from snacks to heavy sweets. Most mornings are a rush of getting the samosas ready before the office workers start passing by. The kitchen is tucked in the back and it stays quite warm throughout the day. We use a lot of ghee and sugar, as you’d expect. Sometimes the floors get a bit slippery if we aren't careful, so we are always cleaning. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us. My cousin helps with the accounts and I mostly look after the production. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. New buildings came up, but we stayed in this same spot. People from the society often drop by in the evenings for a treat. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a batch isn't perfect, we don't put it out. It’s a lot of trial and error even after all these years. We just keep going, making sure there is enough for everyone who walks through the door.
