Meet Confectionery

Meet Confectionery is sitting right in the middle of Janta Nagar, specifically over in Ganesh Nagar at 3211. It is a local spot where people from the nearby houses come to pick up things they need for the kitchen or just a quick snack. The shelves are packed with jars of biscuits, packets of chips, and all those little sweets that the kids go crazy for after the school bell rings. It can get pretty loud in the afternoons when the students crowd around the counter with their coins. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things high up toward the ceiling. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for, but we usually get there in the end. The floor is made of old tile that's a bit cracked in the corners, and the front door stays open most of the day to let in a breeze. There’s a specific smell of sugar and baked goods that stays in the air even after we close up for the night. We know most of our customers by their first names because they’ve been coming here since they were little. It’s a simple neighborhood shop, nothing too special to look at from the outside, but it’s a busy place. We keep the fridge stocked with cold drinks, which are popular when the sun is hitting the pavement hard outside on Ganesh Nagar.
