Out here in Phase III of the Gidc Industrial Estate, things stay pretty busy. Mahaluxmi Tex Fab Pvt Ltd is tucked away in the Civil Line area and you can hear the machines running from the street. It’s a lot of fabric and thread everywhere. We have rolls of cloth stacked up against the walls almost to the ceiling. The air always has a bit of lint floating in it. We spend most of our time watching the looms and making sure nothing snags. It’s not a quiet place to work. We have people coming and going with deliveries all day long. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes of the estate. It’s part of life here. We don’t really do big meetings. Usually, we just talk over the noise of the machines while we work. The lights stay on late most nights because there is always another order to finish. We’ve been in this spot for a while and we know the other guys in the neighboring units. We share the same tea stall down the road. It’s an industrial life. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny office. The floor is concrete and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that. We just focus on getting the fabric out the door on time. That’s what matters at the end of the day.
