Our repair center is in Machiwara, right opposite the Civil Hospital. We are near Samrala Chowk, which is a very busy intersection. If you are coming towards Samrala Chowk, you can't miss the hospital, and we are just across from there. We mostly fix marble cutters and similar power tools. These machines take a lot of beating on construction sites, so they often come to us in bad shape. The shop is usually full of dust and the smell of burnt motors. We have bins full of gears and carbon brushes. It’s a messy place, but we know where everything is. My clothes are always covered in grit from the stone cutters. Being near the hospital means there is always a lot of movement outside. Ambulances and people are always passing by. We open up early because construction workers start their day early and need their tools fixed fast. It’s just a small room with a workbench and a lot of grease. I don't use any software to track things, just a small notebook. If a tool can be fixed, I’ll find a way. People know us in Machiwara for this kind of work. We’ve been here at Samrala Chowk for a long time. It’s a practical business. We fix what is broken and send it back out to the job site so people can get on with their building work. That's the way it's been for years.
