Kulwant Sweets Shop

If you go down Doraha 1st Main near the West Chord Road, you’ll find us right there at the 3rd Stage. Kulwant Sweets Shop isn't a big place. It’s mostly just us in the back making laddoos and barfi every single day. The shop has been in the same spot for quite some time now. We open up pretty early before the sun is even fully up to get the milk boiling. It’s a lot of stirring and waiting. Sometimes the floors get a bit sticky, but we try to keep things moving. We aren't trying to be fancy or anything like those big chains in the city. We just have our regular trays of sweets sitting out for whoever walks in. A lot of the school kids come by in the afternoon when they finish their classes. They usually have a few coins for a small piece of something sweet. It’s nice to see them grow up over the years. We also have people stopping their scooters out front to pick up a box for a family dinner. The fans in here aren't the best, so it stays warm. But we’ve gotten used to the heat from the big burners. We don't spend money on big signs or ads. People just know where we are. It’s just a simple shop where we do our work and go home. That’s how it’s always been here on this corner in Doraha.
