Kuku Plastic

Kuku Plastic is right in the heart of Chaura Bazar, on Kesar Gunj Road. If you know the market, you know how crowded it gets. We sell all sorts of plastic items. Buckets, tubs, small containers, you name it. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling. Sometimes I don't even know what we have in the back. It’s a maze of plastic. We’ve been here for ages. My family has always been in trade. The market is noisy and there’s always someone shouting. I sit on a small stool near the front and wait for customers. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in. Some stay to chat, some just buy and leave. The heat in the summer is bad because the shop has no real ventilation, just a small fan. But we are used to it. The road outside is so narrow that even a cycle can barely pass when it’s busy. But that’s the charm of Kesar Gunj. We keep the prices fair. We aren't trying to get rich quick. Just a steady business to keep things going. It’s a lot of dust and plastic, but it’s our life. We open when the market opens and we don't leave until the last shop shuts down. It is a long day every day, but this shop is what we have. Sometimes we eat lunch right here among the boxes. You get to know the other shopkeepers and it feels like a big, messy family on Kesar Gunj Road.
