Khalsa Sweet Shop

Khalsa Sweet Shop is located down on Pipardi Street in the Salabatpura area of Surat. It’s tucked away in the Shimlapuri part of the neighborhood. Surat is a busy city, and this street is no different. We deal with a lot of humidity here, which makes the cooking even hotter than usual. We’ve been at this address for several years now. We mostly serve the local people who live in the surrounding streets. It’s a small operation. We start the day by cleaning the big vats and getting the milk delivered. If the delivery is late, we start late, that’s just how it goes. We don’t have a marketing team or a fancy logo. Most of our customers come here because their parents came here. Pipardi Street can get quite cramped when the scooters are parked everywhere. We just try to keep our little corner organized. Sometimes we try new items, and if they don't sell, we just go back to the basics. It’s a practical way to run things. We don't spend money on decor; we’d rather keep the lights on and the fridge running. It’s an honest living. People in Salabatpura know us, and we know them. That’s enough for us. We just keep the shop open and the trays full of whatever we finished cooking that hour. It’s a lot of lifting and stirring but we are used to it by now.
