We spend most of our time here at 44 Industrial Area B just dealing with whatever comes through the door. It’s a steel shop, so you can imagine it’s not exactly a quiet place to sit and think. Usually, the morning starts with moving stuff around to make space for the day’s work. The metal gets cold in the winter months, and it’s pretty tough on the hands until you get moving. We’ve been in this spot for some time now. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad unless the traffic on the main road gets backed up, which happens more often than not lately. You see the same faces every day in this part of the industrial area. We know the guys at the tea stall down the street pretty well. When the machines are running, you have to yell a bit just to be heard over the noise of the cutting and the clanging. It’s heavy work, mostly just handling sheets and bars and making sure things are cut right. We don’t have fancy offices or anything like that. Just a desk in the corner and a lot of floor space for the inventory. Some days are slower when we’re just waiting on a delivery, and other days we’re running around until the sun goes down. That’s just how it goes here. We try to keep things organized, but in a steel yard, there’s always a bit of dust and scrap lying around.
