K. L. Ravindra Textiles

You’ll find us at 0161 in Mochpura Bazar, over in Hargobind Nagar. This area is known for its shops and commerce, and K. L. Ravindra Textiles has been a part of it for a long time. The shop is usually packed with rolls of fabric from floor to ceiling. It can be hard to move around sometimes when we have a lot of stock in. We deal with all sorts of materials, mostly traditional stuff that people around here use for their own tailoring or for their homes. The air usually smells a bit like cotton and dye. It’s a family-run kind of place. You’ll see us measuring out yards of cloth and cutting them for customers all through the day. The lighting isn't the best, but we’ve got a good eye for color after all these years. It gets very busy during the festival seasons, and we often stay late just to get the shop ready for the next morning. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are and they come by to see what new patterns we’ve got in. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy rolls and keeping track of what’s sold. We like the bustle of the bazar. It’s noisy and crowded, but it feels like home to us. Being in Mochpura Bazar means there is always someone coming in with a new project or looking for a specific cloth.
