Jagroop Mechanical Works

Our shop, Jagroop Mechanical Works, is tucked away in Gill Tagore Colony, right near the New Cycle Market. If you know the area, you know how hectic it gets with all the bicycles and rickshaws moving around 577/23. We spend most of our time bent over different mechanical parts, trying to figure out why a piece of equipment isn't turning the way it should. It’s dusty work and our hands are usually stained with grease by ten in the morning. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a desk in the corner with old ledgers and a phone that rings whenever someone's tractor or machine breaks down. Being so close to the cycle market means there’s always people passing by, asking for small favors or looking for a specific bolt. We’ve got a couple of lathes and some welding gear that have seen better days but still do the job just fine. My dad started this place years ago and not much has changed since then, except maybe the traffic outside got worse. We just focus on the task at hand, whether it’s a big repair or just sharpening some tools. It’s honest work and it fills the day. We usually close up when it starts getting dark and head home, then come back and do it all over again the next morning. It’s a simple life but it works for us.
