J M D Collection

Our shop is tucked inside Calibre Plaza, which is right across from Bhadaur House. Being at Shop No 71 a means we aren't the first thing people see when they walk in, but people eventually find their way to us near the Clock Tower. The plaza has its own rhythm, with people wandering in and out all day long. We keep the space as organized as we can, but with all the different items we have at J M D Collection, things tend to spill over. The shelves are packed pretty tight. We spend a good chunk of the morning dusting everything off because the city dust finds its way into every corner. It’s funny how you get used to the noise of the traffic and the bells from the tower outside. It just becomes background noise while we're showing someone a particular piece of clothing. We don't have any fancy computer systems here; we still write things down in a big register. Sometimes the electricity goes off for an hour, and we just sit by the doorway to catch the natural light. It’s a simple way of working. Most of our regulars know exactly where to look for what they want. When the day ends, we pull the gate shut and walk out into the cool evening air. It’s a steady life, and we’ve gotten used to the small quirks of this building.
