Working out of Focal Point is a different kind of experience. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always something happening. Indogem Enamels is spread across E-123 and 130. These are big sheds mostly. It’s not a place for suits and ties. We wear sturdy shoes because the floor is concrete and there’s always something being moved around. The sound of machinery is pretty constant. It’s loud but it’s a good kind of loud because it means we are busy. We have a small office section where we handle the billing and the phone calls. It’s usually a bit dusty because of the location. You can’t really keep a place in Focal Point perfectly clean no matter how hard you try. The morning starts early here. The trucks start arriving and we have to get everything ready. It’s a lot of physical work and coordination. We don't have a fancy lounge for breaks. We just sit on whatever is available and have our tea. It’s an honest way to make a living. We’ve been in these units for a long time and we know how every machine sounds. If something isn't right, we can usually hear it before we see it. It’s just us and the work. No frills, just getting the orders out the door. It is what it is and we are proud of the effort we put in.
