Hind Iron Store

Hind Iron Store has been sitting here at Quila Chowk for a long time. We are right in the middle of Bartan Bazaar, and you can hear the sounds of the market from morning until night. Being near Gurr Mandi means there are always tractors and carts moving around. We deal with iron goods, which is heavy and dirty work. My hands are usually covered in some kind of rust or grease by lunch. The shop is filled with metal rods, sheets, and other iron items piled up high. We have to be careful how we stack things so nothing falls over. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned place. We use a heavy scale for weighing things out. I don't use much technology here because iron is simple and doesn't need it. People from the surrounding villages come in looking for materials for their farm or house. We talk about the prices of metal and how the season is going. It's a loud environment with the clanging of metal and the shouting from the bazaar outside. I grew up around this trade, so the smell of iron is just normal to me. We don't have any fancy brochures. You just come in, tell me what you need, and we weigh it out. It’s hard work, but it’s honest. We stay open until the bazaar starts to quiet down in the late evening.
