Harbans Sweet Shop

Harbans Sweet Shop is actually part of our house in Prabhat Colony, Basti Jodhewal. We are at H.No-2512, right in the middle of Seva Nagar. It is a very local setup. We don't have a big sign on the main road, but everyone in the colony knows where we are. We make the sweets in a small kitchen in the back. The smell of cardamom and boiling milk is always there. It’s mostly just me and my wife working here. We don't make huge quantities, just enough to sell through the day. Sometimes we run out of things by four in the afternoon. People just knock on the door if the shutter is half-down. It's a very friendly way to do business. We’ve been here for many years, and we have seen the kids in the neighborhood grow up. They used to come for one piece of candy, and now they bring their own children. The walls have some cracks and the display case is old, but it works fine for us. We don't have any fancy packaging. We just use plain boxes or paper bags. It’s a quiet life in Seva Nagar. We don't want to move to a big commercial market. We like being right here where we live. It’s a simple shop for simple people. We just keep the stove going and wait for the neighbors to stop by. It's how we've always done it.
