Janta Nagar is where you will find us, specifically at Guru Nanak Machinery Store. We have been here at 39606 for a long time now. The shop is full of metal parts, greasy tools, and heavy machines that take up most of the floor space. If you walk in, you might see a bit of dust on the shelves because there are so many small pieces to keep track of. We sell mostly things for local workshops and factories around this area. It gets loud outside with all the traffic, but inside we are usually busy looking for a specific bolt or a spare part for someone who is in a hurry. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the stock. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If someone asks for something we don't have, we tell them straight. There is no point in making things up. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that is usually the highlight of the afternoon. We have seen Janta Nagar change a lot over the years. New shops come and go but we stay right here. It is a simple place. We open the shutters early and close up when the sun goes down. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, so we have to move the boxes. We have a calendar from three years ago still hanging on the wall because nobody bothered to take it down. It feels like home to us after all these years.
