Gulmarg Steel Industries

Our business is located in the Gill Ahata area at Nand Puri 9. This is a very industrial part of the world, and you can hear the sound of metal and machinery from every corner. Gulmarg Steel Industries is right in the thick of it. The yard is usually full of steel bits and heavy pieces that we move around all day. It gets very dusty and loud, but that is just how the steel business works. Our office is a small room off to the side where we keep the scales and the books. It is not the kind of place where you would want to wear a clean white shirt because it won't stay white for long. We have been working with steel for a long time and we know the material well. The mornings are the busiest when the trucks arrive to load or unload. We drink our tea standing up most of the time because there is always something to check on. The weather in Punjab can be extreme, freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer, but we don't stop for that. We aren't interested in looking like a big corporation. We are just a local industry making sure people get the steel they need for their projects. It is hard work and it makes your hands dirty, but it is what we do for a living. The grease and the noise are just part of the day.
