The furnace stays hot most of the day here at G S C Casting Pvt Ltd. We are based over in Bharat Nagar, right in the middle of the industrial patch. Most of the guys have been working these molds for years, so they know the rhythm of the metal. It is loud work, and your clothes get dirty pretty fast, but that is the nature of a foundry. We take the raw stuff, melt it down, and pour it into the shapes needed. There is always a lot of smoke and the smell of burnt sand in the air. We don't have a big fancy office with carpets; we just have a small desk near the front where we keep the ledgers. Bharat Nagar can get crowded with trucks coming in and out, so getting the raw materials delivered is sometimes a bit of a headache. We just focus on getting the pours right and making sure the cooling racks are clear for the next batch. Some pieces are small and some are quite heavy, so we have to be careful with the lifting gear. It is a lot of physical labor, and by the time the shift ends, everyone is ready to go home and wash off the grime. We just keep our heads down and get the orders finished so the next day can start smoothly. It is a gritty job but someone has to do it.
