Ekam Marbles

Ekam Marbles is out on Mall Road in Village Dad, right off Pakhowal Road. It is a big open space because we need the room for all the stone slabs. It is a very dusty job, as you can imagine. There are always trucks coming in to drop off big pieces of marble or picking up orders for some house nearby. We spend a lot of our time moving heavy things around. It is hard work and it gets very hot out here during the summer months. We have a small office area where we keep the books, but mostly we are outside with the stone. The ground is covered in white dust from the cutting and polishing. You can hear the saws running from down the road. It is not a quiet place at all. Village Dad is a bit away from the main city buzz, which gives us the space we need to store everything. People come from all over Pakhowal Road to look at the different patterns in the stone. We do not have a fancy showroom. The slabs are just leaning against the walls or sitting on metal frames. It is a simple business. We show people what we have, help them pick something, and then get it loaded up. It is honest work and we have been doing it here for quite some time. We just deal with the stone and the dust every day until it is time to close.
