Our place is at 1979/1, Lane No.2 in Maharajnagar. If you know where Ansal Plaza is, we are right opposite that on Circuit House Road. It’s a bit of a contrast because the mall is all bright lights and we are back in the lane working on machines. The workshop gets pretty loud when everything is going at once. We have been in this spot for some time now and the neighbors know the sound of our shutters opening in the morning. People walk by on their way to the plaza but we are usually busy inside dealing with metal and parts. It gets dusty, especially when the wind kicks up on the road outside. We have a small crew and most of us have been together for years so we don't need much instruction anymore. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that is usually the only time things go quiet for a bit. It’s not the kind of place with a lobby or a receptionist. You usually just walk in and find someone in overalls to talk to. Dealing with the machines takes up most of the day and there is always some grease or oil somewhere on the floor. We just keep our heads down and finish what needs finishing. The location is handy because the main road is right there but Lane No.2 is where the actual work happens every day without fail.
