We’ve been here at 755 Lakkar Bazar for a long time now. If you walk down 1St Cross Pipeline Road, you’ll see our shop full of machines. It’s usually pretty crowded inside because we have so many different models stacked up. Some are new and shiny, while others are older ones we’re fixing for people who’ve had them for decades. We deal with a lot of local tailors and folks who just want to mend clothes at home. The shop floor is often covered in bits of thread or little metal parts that fell off a table. It isn’t the fanciest place, but it gets the job done. I usually spend most of my afternoon looking through manuals or trying to find a specific needle for a customer. The noise of the machines running is something you get used to pretty quick. Sometimes the traffic on Pipeline Road makes it hard for people to park, but they manage. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. Most people find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor who got their machine running again here. It’s just how things work in this part of town. We keep things simple and try to help anyone who walks through the door with a jammed bobbin or a broken motor. It's a living and we enjoy being part of the community here in Lakkar Bazar. We have a lot of stories about old machines.
