Dashmesh Iron & Mill Store

Dashmesh Iron & Mill Store is located over at shop number 41 in Gurunanak Dev Market. We are right on Gill Road, which stays pretty busy most of the day with all the trucks and traffic moving through. It is a good spot for us because people know this market well when they need hardware or iron supplies. We have been sitting in this same shop for a while now, and the walls are a bit dusty from all the metal, but that's part of the trade. You can hear the sounds of the market from inside all day long. Sometimes it’s hard to hear each other talk when the big vehicles go by outside on the main road. We keep the place organized as best as we can, though it gets a bit cramped when new stock arrives. The other shopkeepers around here are friendly enough, and we all kind of look out for one another. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We show up early, move the heavy stuff around, and help whoever walks through the door. There is no air conditioning or anything fancy, just a few fans and hard work. People come to us because they know where we are and that we’ve been here. It’s a straightforward way to make a living and we are okay with that.
