C Lall Printing Press

We operate out of the AC Market in the Civil Lines area, specifically within the National Market section. If you have been around here, you know it is a place where people come for all sorts of things. Our printing press is usually humming with the sound of paper being fed through the rollers. The smell of ink is pretty strong, especially on days when we have a lot of pages to get through. It’s a bit of a maze in the market sometimes, but once you find us, you’ll see we have stacks of paper and boxes everywhere. We don't have much room for a lobby, so most of our interactions happen right next to the machines. Printing is a messy job, so there are usually some ink stains on the floor and our hands. Civil Lines is a good central spot, even if parking can be a bit of a struggle for people visiting. We have various types of presses running, and each one has its own particular sound and temperament. Sometimes a machine jams and we have to spend an hour taking it apart to find a tiny scrap of paper. That is just part of the daily life here at the press. We keep our schedules on a board and try to stick to them as best as we can. It’s a steady kind of work that keeps us busy from morning until evening every day.
