Birdi Mechanical Works

We are set up on Street Number 7 in Shahid Jasdev Singh Nagar. It is a local spot where we do all kinds of mechanical work. The shop is right there on the street, so people usually just drop by when they have something that needs fixing. We have been working with our hands for a long time. The floor is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil, which is pretty normal for a place like this. We don't have a big office or a secretary. You just walk in and talk to whoever is holding a wrench. It’s a simple way to run things. We mostly focus on repairs and small-scale manufacturing. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, but there is always some noise coming from our unit. We try to keep things moving so people aren't waiting too long for their parts. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for materials to arrive, but we stay busy with other things in the meantime. We’ve lived and worked around here for a while. It’s a good community and we know most of the people on the street. We aren't trying to be anything big. We just like fixing things and seeing the machines run right again. It’s hard work, but it keeps us going. We usually have a pot of tea going if anyone stops by.
