Bhag Sweet Shop

Bhag Sweet Shop has been here in Abdullapur Basti for quite a while. It’s a small shop on a street that stays pretty crowded. We spend a lot of time in the back kitchen where all the frying happens. The air there is thick with the smell of sugar and oil. We don't have many employees, just a few family members mostly. We take turns sitting at the front and helping whoever walks in. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time yet. We are too busy making sure the trays are full for the evening rush. Folks from the Basti stop by after work or when they have a celebration at home. We know most of our customers by their first names or at least their faces. It is a simple life here. We wake up, start the fires, and get to cooking. Sometimes the deliveries are late and we have to scramble to find ingredients. We don't have a website or anything fancy. If you want to see what we have, you just have to walk in and look at the counter. The benches outside are where some of the older men sit and talk while they eat. It's just a regular part of the neighborhood. We do our best to keep things clean and the food fresh. That’s about all there is to it.
