Our small setup is tucked away on Street No 2 in New Janta Nagar. The address number, 1648373, is a bit long, but most locals just know us as the place on the corner. We don’t have a big sign out front, just the name painted on the wall in blue letters. The workspace is a bit tight, especially when we have a lot of materials arriving at once. Most of the day is spent handling the machines and checking the quality of what we’re making. It’s noisy and the air smells like metal and oil. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. There are only a few of us working here, so everyone knows how to do a bit of everything. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. If you walk in, you’ll probably see someone in work clothes covered in dust. The floor is mostly covered in scraps that we sweep up at the end of the day. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while and have seen it change quite a bit as more houses went up. The street outside is unpaved in some parts, so it gets muddy when it rains. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s nothing fancy, just a steady rhythm of making products and getting them ready for the truck to pick up. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch if the power goes out during the day.
