Basant Print Art

If you look for us near the Gurudwara Singh Sabha, you will find Basant Print Art. We are tucked into the Raja Mehta Pole area, specifically at 3 Dugri Mayabhais Bari. It is a bit of an older part of the neighborhood with narrow streets. Inside our shop, there is always the smell of fresh ink and the sound of paper being fed through the presses. We do a lot of printing work here. Sometimes it's small things like business cards or local flyers, and other times it’s bigger stacks of posters. We have ink on our fingers almost every single day. It’s hard to get off even with soap. We have some old machines that have been with us for years and they still work better than the new ones sometimes. The light in the back of the shop isn't the best, so we do the fine work near the front window. We see people going to the Gurudwara all day long. It's a nice place to be. We aren't trying to be the biggest printer in the world. We just like seeing the finished pages come out clean and straight. Sometimes the paper jams and we have to pull it out bit by bit. We just fix it and keep going. It’s a steady pace and we enjoy the rhythm of the printing press. We keep our doors open late if there is a big job.
