B K Steel Works

B K Steel Works is located over in Sherpur Khurd. We are right near the Noori Masjid. It’s easy to find us if you look for the building with all the steel rods leaning against the wall. We handle a lot of heavy metal work. Most of what we do involves cutting and bending steel for local building projects. The shop floor is always covered in iron filings. We wear thick boots because of all the sharp bits. I took over this place from my father. He taught me how to weld when I was just a teenager. Now I have a few guys working with me. We don't have a fancy office. My desk is just in the corner of the shop, usually covered in dust. We get a lot of walk-in business from people in the neighborhood. Maybe they need a gate repaired or some window bars made. We don't use a lot of high-tech stuff. It’s mostly saws, hammers, and welding torches. It’s physical work and you feel it in your back at the end of the day. We try to get things done on time, but sometimes the power goes out or a machine breaks down. That’s just part of life here. We don't make big promises. We just show you what we can do and then we do it. The masjid nearby is a good landmark if you're trying to find us for the first time. We've been here so long that we don't even notice the noise from the street anymore. It's just home to us now.
